Tewkesbury Rotary club is a member of the worldwide Rotary organisation, which is arguably one of the biggest donors to charitable causes, including particularly natural disasters, as well as having strong interests in youth development worldwide.
The concept is an enjoyable club atmosphere, stimulating debate and at the same time supporting other organisations which do not have access to the resources of Rotary International. They enjoy presentations at weekly meetings from a wide range of sources, particularly about issues of the day. Of course, due to proximity, Tidal power is a topic of great interest.
Unlike other charitable organisations, Rotary is virtually all run through volunteers, which ensures that every pound raised goes to the intended cause. The worldwide network of Rotary Clubs means Rotary has people on the ground anywhere in the world through whom aid can be disseminated.
Tewkesbury Rotary is part of District 1100, including Gloucester, Cheltenham etc. There are 39 members, including some Honorary members, active and retired business owners, professionals, from most walks of life.
